  I could not be any more pleased with the result of my Immediate Full Denture made by the Denture Specialist from Sutton, Ontario, Sam Tran.

 It has been two weeks since the dreaded day, when my teeth were removed, and the denture placed in, and all my fears, and anticipations have turned to be needless! I can articulate every word I speak, I look just like myself but better :), I haven’t use any of the poligrip so far, and except for a minor adjustment, I am going through the healing process with no problems. 

  I have to admit, that I wasn’t the easy case for Sam, having been wearing ill fitted partial for several years, that have resulted in bone lost, and shifting of all my teeth. Even my jaws have collapsed and my bite wasn’t comfortable anymore. I knew, that reconstructing the way I was biting before, will be a long process (if possible at all).

Sam has the ability to see into the given possibilities for the maximum of patient’s benefits. He thinks aesthetics, without compromising  the function. He had my denture precisely finished where it should be, to get the suction that holds it the best and doesn’t allow the food to be trapped under. My bite is solid against my natural lower teeth, although I still am learning how to chew the food comfortably, but I know that this is just a matter of time. I smile a lot, not worried that someone would notice that those aren’t my natural teeth, because Sam has copied the characteristics of their shape and size.

Having said that; please don’t be fooled into thinking that this procedure is a “walk in a park”, because is not. The fact is, that the rigid piece of acrylic is placed against fresh wounds caused by the teeth extraction. The gums naturally swell, and bleed, and the pain-killer is a must. The chewing is out of question for several days. However, there is variety of soups and smoothies that can carry one over the healing time, and there is the poligrip just in case. The rinses with warm saline solution are speeding the healing considerably. I find using the Listerine rinse very refreshing in between.

I know that my gums are still shrinking slowly, so perhaps I will still use the glue before my scheduled reline in 3 months.

I believe that understanding the process, and being realistic has help me in the transition, but finding a great denturist like Sam from Sutton, ON. is what has brought the success about!!!
